CBPS Public School Family Update
March 6th, 2026
Principal's Message
Hello Cougar Families,
As we head into March, we are looking forward to Spring Break and hope all of our families enjoy a well-deserved and restful week. Please note that our next School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting will take place on March 24. Our SAC plays a vital role in supporting our school community—funding gym equipment, helping to offset the cost of field trips, and providing classroom supplies that enhance learning for all students. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and commitment our SAC members give to our school. We are always looking for new families to get involved in any way they can, whether by helping with Community Spirit Bingo fundraisers (see information below), attending meetings, sharing ideas, or volunteering at events. Thank you to our SAC for all of the hard work and ongoing support you provide to our school! Check out the photo below showing school supplies that were recently funded by SAC.
With warmer weather on the way, our school yard is especially muddy and wet at this time of year. We kindly ask families to send children with appropriate outdoor clothing, including waterproof boots and an extra pair of socks, to help keep them comfortable and dry throughout the day. Thank you for your support!
Have a wonderful weekend.
J. Cole, Principal

School Council
The focus of School Council is to meet to discuss events and fundraisers at CBPS, bring up issues with administration, and plan special opportunities for students and families. The support they provide to our students and staff is invaluable.
A major contributor to the councils fundraising efforts is through their association with Community Spirit Bingo ,whose proceeds play a meaningful role in supporting local charities and non‑profits, including Collins Bay Public School.
The school currently sends two volunteers twice a month for two hours, and this commitment brings in over $1,000 each month to directly support students.
These funds help enrich educational experiences through hands‑on, experiential learning opportunities, strengthen school sports teams, and provide essential classroom resources.
If you would like more information about this volunteer fundraising opportunity please contact SAC Chair Alyssa Baird atabaird25@gmail.com.
Our next School Council meeting will be held Tuesday, March 24th at 5:30 in the library.
All CBPS guardians are invited to join us. Meeting will also be offered virtually through Teams. Hope to see you there!
