Busy weeks continue ahead for this month with a wide range of school events scheduled. Please see posters below for more information.As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, students have been participating in several safety practice drills over the last few weeks, including fire drills and a lockdown drill. Our lockdown practice is scheduled for Monday, June 8th.These practice drills help students and staff become familiar with safety procedures and ensure we are prepared in the event of an emergency. We look forward to welcoming our school community for an evening of fun, food, and celebration as we wrap up another fantastic school year together.There will be a variety of games and activities for students and families to enjoy, including:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem" style="text-align: start;">Inflatable Hover Targets</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem" style="text-align: start;">Axe Throwing</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem" style="text-align: start;">Tetris Tumble</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem" style="text-align: start;">Potato Sack Races</li><li value="5" class="editor-listitem" style="text-align: start;">Golf Corn Hole</li></ul>A face painter will be available throughout the event from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and our Foam Party will run from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. — be prepared to get wet and have fun!We are also excited to welcome the Gino’s Pizza Food Truck to the school from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for families wishing to purchase dinner during the event. Charitable Gaming Fundraising</h2> Through our School Council, Collins Bay is a proud participant in Charitable Gaming! Through funds raised at @PlayYGK, we can continue our important work supporting students. Our students and staff have been enjoying the sunshine and all of the exciting activities happening around the school as we head into the final weeks of the year.Students in Grades 3 and 6 are currently participating in EQAO assessments. We are proud of all the hard work they have put in throughout the year and appreciate families’ support in helping students arrive rested, prepared, and ready to do their best each day.A huge congratulations goes out to everyone involved in our successful production of Charlotte’s Web! The performance was truly a team effort and we are so proud of the dedication and talent shown by our students and staff. Thank you to Ms. Desarmia for spearheading the production, Ms. McLinton for helping with sound and rehearsals, Madame Samifanni for supporting with lights and the bulletin board, and Ms. Boyce for her work with the bulletin board, costumes, and ticket sales. Congratulations to our amazing cast and crew for a job well done! We would also like to sincerely thank our School Advisory Council (SAC) for generously funding this wonderful project and helping make the experience possible for our students.A reminder to families that Thursday, May 29 is a PA Day, so there will be no school for students. We are also looking forward to our Year End Celebration on June 10 and our Kindergarten Open House on June 8 (please see details below).Thank you for your continued support throughout this busy and exciting time of year. A message with survey details and links can be found below. Your feedback helps us understand what is working well and where we can improve, supporting welcoming, safe, and inclusive school communities. The survey is open until May 11 and can be completed online, with paper copies also available at the school office. Participation is voluntary and anonymous—no identifying information is collected, and you may skip any questions.
