Principal's Message
As we settle into October, we hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful fall colours and the changing of the seasons! It is a wonderful time of year to get outside, enjoy the crisp autumn air, and appreciate the beauty of the season.
Welcome Back, Ms. Sherman!
We are happy to welcome Ms. Sherman back to the CBPS team! She will be working with our Grade 3/4/5 students, teaching Social Studies and Music and Planning Time in our K-2 and Grade 6-8 classes. We are excited to have her rejoin our school community!
Every Day Counts!
Regular school attendance plays an important role in student success. Students who attend school regularly are better positioned to build relationships, engage in learning, and experience success. Every day counts, and missed days add up over the course of the school year! We recognize that absences are sometimes unavoidable, and we encourage families to reach out if they need support. Please see resources below with helpful tips and strategies to support families in building positive attendance routines and helping students arrive at school ready to learn.
Picture Day - November 3rd

Our small but mighty School Council meets about once every 6 weeks to discuss events and fundraisers at CBPS, bring up issues with administration, and plan special opportunities for students and families. It is a great way to stay informed and involved in your child's schooling!
Our CBPS Council from 2025-26 includes the following executive members:
- Chair: Ashley Switzer
- Secretary: Charlotte Burns

Our School Council currently has positions available for an Indigenous Representative and Members-at-Large. If you are interested in getting involved and helping contribute to our school community, we would love to hear from you! Please reach out to School Council or contact the school office for more information about these opportunities.
Volunteers always welcome!
Next SAC Meeting is Wednesday, November 18th at 6:00 pm in the CBPS Library.

Allergen Awareness - Nut-Free School
Thank you for packing nut-free snacks! Please communicate with teachers before sending any treats in for your student's class.
Concussion Codes of Conduct
All school boards in Ontario are required to have a policy on concussion safety for students. There have been some changes to LDSB Concussion Protocol this year which simply the Return to Learn (RTL) and Return to Physical Activity (RTPA) process and support a safe, gradual, symptom-informed return to school and activity. These are outlined in Administrative Procedure 142: Concussions, as well as a variety of supporting resources and documents that outline a code of conduct for students and families, flow charts to identify and diagnose a concussion and assessment and management forms. Please reach out to the school with any questions.
Daily Schedule
Our school operates on a balanced day using a Day 1 to 5 cycle.
