The months have flown by, filled with learning, growth, new friendships, and memorable experiences for our students. As we prepare to celebrate the end of another successful year, we want to thank our families for their ongoing support and partnership. We look forward to making the most of these last few days together and celebrating all that our students have accomplished this year. Busy weeks continue ahead for this month with a wide range of school events scheduled. Please see posters below for more information.As part of our ongoing commitment to school safety, students have been participating in several safety practice drills over the last few weeks, including fire drills and a lockdown drill. Our lockdown practice is scheduled for Monday, June 8th.These practice drills help students and staff become familiar with safety procedures and ensure we are prepared in the event of an emergency. About Our School

Welcome to Collins Bay Public School, home of the Cougars, where we have the spirit! Collins Bay has about 90 students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. The school also has a day care and a before and after school program on site operated by Kingston Day Care. We continue to focus on our character education program, which highlights character traits such as responsibility, optimism, organization, co-operation, caring, courage, and kindness, and respect.

Invitation for Applications External Members for the Audit Committee

The Limestone District School Board is seeking community members with strong financial expertise and business acumen to serve as external members of its Audit Committee for a three‑year term beginning September 2026.The Audit Committee consists of three Trustees and two independent community members. Its mandate is to assist the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its governance and oversight responsibilities. Key areas of responsibility include:<ul class="editor-list-ul"><li value="1" class="editor-listitem">Oversight of the financial reporting process</li><li value="2" class="editor-listitem">Review of the internal control framework</li><li value="3" class="editor-listitem">Monitoring risk management practices</li><li value="4" class="editor-listitem">Evaluation of the performance of internal and external auditors</li><li value="5" class="editor-listitem">Ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements</li></ul>The Committee meets three times per year. On average, more than 14,000 meals and snacks were served each week, over 530,000 throughout the year, with weekly food orders reaching approximately $17,500.We are grateful to the dedicated staff who make these programs possible, and to The Food Sharing Project for continuing to support student well-being across LDSB.
